Studying Japanese

I chose to study Japanese because I've always loved anime, manga, and games that are produced in Japan. I'm also a big fan of idols, namely AKB48. After visiting the country for an entire month this past summer, I was convinced that I would want to live and work there for at least some period of my life in the future. Prior to the class, I self studied the language until I reached a point where I could no longer learn it in an organized fashion. I want to become fluent so I can comprehend and communicate with the language.

I'm excited to go beyond what I already know and actually get past my basic level that I've been stuck at for a while. Right now, I'm mostly relying on what I knew beforehand to get by in class, but there are occasionally things that I haven't learned yet, which throws me off a bit when I learn them for the first time, but since it's something I enjoy, I don't see it as work at all.
