About Communication

Communication is the action of conveying information, thoughts, or ideas from one party to another through any means that make it possible. Effective communication should also be done through the easiest, simplest manner possible.

In our podcast project, I hope to be able to learn more about the differences between my college experience at an American university and somebody else's college experience at a Japanese university.

  1. Yes, I agree with your definition of communication. It is interesting that you mentioned effective communication. I would like to know what you mean by the easiest, simplest manner!
I also hope you will learn something new about the differences. Although your audience is not directly communicating with you in your project, I hope you will be able to communicate with them by means of podcasting.

    1. I think the most effective method of communication varies depending on the situation and the people involved, including their skill level on the topic of discussion. If somebody is highly skilled, there's no need to deliberately explain all facets of what you are trying to communicate.

  2. I totally agree with your first paragraph. I think the way that we highly efficiently communicate is by using least words to give maximum information. I think it is very useful to compare our American college life with Japanese college life because as we know, there is a lot of cultural difference between these two country. The college life must be of huge different and it should be very interesting to study this kind of difference.

    1. Being concise is very important, but being able to convey the correct message is equally vital. As somebody who programs, although making code look nice and short is great, understanding and readability of the code shouldn't be completely sacrificed in favor of character count. I am learning that there are some striking differences between American and Japanese college lifestyles through my research; it's very interesting and sometimes unexpected.
